Katherine Currier
Originally from New Hampshire, Katherine spent five years in New York City as an undergraduate at Wagner College and a subsequent starving artist. After competing in the 2001 Miss America Program, she became engaged to her husband, John, and entered a career in education, prompted by her platform work that involved funding extracurricular programming for school-aged kids in NH. In 2004, Katherine and John moved to North Carolina, mostly for the weather, so they could extend the golf season. Joining the Providence Day School Community in 2005, Katherine currently teaches high school English and serves as the Girls Tennis Program Head. In 2024, Katherine earned a Masters in Sports Psychology from Capella University, and she uses this degree to assist student performers and athletes in their pursuit of mental resilience. Owner of Plume Jewelry—a philanthropy-based design company—and Coach Curri Mental Performance Coaching, Katherine rarely sits still. Her family, consisting of her son Calvin (18) and her daughter Lawson (14), loves playing games, cooking, and waterfall hunting together. She’s thrilled to join the cast of DWTS as a way of fusing a passion for benefiting others with a love of performing arts.
